I guess we were being quite optimistic about tearing down the whole addition in one day.
We got most of the roof done and that just about did everyone in. John and Evan have very sore arms from using a saws-all above their heads most of the day.

F@#$k Mike Holmes and his just tear it all apart attitude.  This was so hard you could smash a board with the great big sledge and nothing would move.  I think John counted 120 nails in a short span of roof.  Our theory is nails were way to cheap in 1983 when the addition went up.

It did not help that we lost Rob today either he has not been well and left after about an hour of work because he could not breathe.

Today a young Scottish guy showed up and has moved back to The County and is looking for work.  My word we were all over that so John has him coming tomorrow morning to talk about a job.  Once that was decided John starts telling us how upset he has been with Rob.
It turns out what we considered banter and teasing was not how these guys got along.  Rob just felt he was okay letting John do most of the work and telling him to F-off was not okay.  Because John always laughed and smiled we assumed that was their thing but it was not.
When Rob went to leave he could not walk all the way to his truck without stopping to catch his breath. It is so sad since he is young but he is never without a smoke in his hand.

We'll see what happens tomorrow.
Looking into the old bedroom.

Looking at the work from the family room side.

So sore.

Milkweed beetles.

On the left is Rob who is bent like that because he can't breathe.  He smokes two bags of smokes a week.

Be careful Evan.

13 blades and it is still not down but we ran out of blades and it started to rain.

These two did the bulk of the work but they chat the whole time they are working.   Although John has many names for Evan like Devon or Bud.

Getting it done filled our container.

This little dormer is gone tonight I just did not get a photo yet.
