I am going to change the name of this blog soon and just wanted to let you know.  Right now it is distressing to do a search for it and have something distasteful come up first.  I hope to change it to the name of the B&B once we have one.  Apple Tree is one we are thinking of.

We are still being held up by rain but Drew was able to give us a few hours on Sat.
It rained again today but with the drainage that was done at the back it dries pretty quickly.

Drew dropped off two loads of rocks from his farm and we are trying to decide where we want them.  They will look amazing in the back yard with all the trees we plan on getting into the ground soon.

The proposed fish pond may turn into a pool after all but there is no final decision on that.  It has just been a much larger pond than first imagined and looks more like a pool.

First load of rocks.

They made a lot of noise coming out of the truck.

Lovely and all so different.

Pretty big pond.

Make a nice pool.

Plants waiting to be put in the ground.

Rain delays again.

More rain and a deeper pool.

The second load of rocks.

I think Brian was a little leery boulders rolling out of a truck.

Here we go!!

Drew is back to get the back yard in shape and that makes me a very happy girl.  I'll be able to garden soon and not have to look at giant weeds.

To start we are putting in a french drain at the end of the patio and sloping the patio in that direction to keep water from pooling around the house.  Before we do levelling at the top and putting in topsoil the pond had to be dug.  It will be much larger than I thought but will be great for fish.

The rain is causing us problems and we are on hold till next week maybe so we live with one days work.  ARG!!!
Brian loves this stuff.

Tricky trying to remove dirt while on a hill.

The sand

The pipe and more sand on top.

The start of the pond.

Well the place is coming along and we are looking forward to getting the workshop done so that can be cleaned up and Brian can then start making kitchen cabinets.
Once those are done he can take his time and do fun projects like all the ones he sees in his woodworking magazines.

The windows have been delayed a few times now and have been scheduled for Friday.  I hope they show up this time.

I'll admit that the yard is going to much more stunning than we first imagined.  It is so much larger with the trees groomed and the hill made more manageable.
We were lucky our neighbour has connections and was able to get the Spencer boys in.  She has also been busy getting things cleaned up around her house for someone who has been so sick she is so energetic these days.

The yard is being worked on but we only got one day in and have been stopped by rain.  Of course, working in clay is so much fun when it is wet.  Needless to say we are now waiting for some dry weather.
These are gone now but.

The start of drywalling the workshop and such picky corners.

Still waiting for the windows.

Here we are halfway to finishing and not so many corners now.

Mostly sanded and then we prime it before moving on.
