Nothing new here.
We have laid some tiles in the master bath but are now waiting for the shower floor to be tiled before I can grout.
Brian is off for a few days so I guess that will have to wait till he gets back.

No news on the venting issue yet.  Brian still needs to call Dave and set up a meeting.

I would love for it to move forward at least a little more than it is but like I have said we have stalled right now.  There is a lot of work to do but Brian has lost the drive right now.
He would like to enjoy the summer and is golfing a few days a week and we go for drives in the Miata.
Not the worst thing in the world but I still get upset when I see our furniture sitting in the workshop and garage and I cannot move any of it in here.
The one thing about having a hired hand around is it pushes you forward because one does not want to pay someone for sitting around.

Look at me complaining again.  It will be so nice when it is done.  We had some neighbours in last night for drinks and dinner(thanks to acti-fry, salad and a bbq) and a tour.  I had made enough dinner for Evan but he went off to pick Natalie up so there was enough dinner for the four of us. There were lots of good ideas about how the place could look.

I'll get some pictures for the next post.

Well that sucks.  The inspector( Lisa) arrived today and was inspecting the venting when she noticed the vents required on her drawings were different than those on Brian's.
Yikes was that not what we expected.  Ot turns out the woman(Gail) who did the original HVAC designs changed them when we went to concrete walls and added air-conditioning.
She then up sized a lot of vents to six inch pipes but we were working with drawings that ask for five inch pipes.
Brian is not happy and it will take some time to sort this out.  He would like to wait until our HVAC guy(Dave) is back so they can talk to Gail together and hopefully she will re-look at the plans.

The time lost to fix this is not the issue as much as the cost of new venting.  Metal is one of the more expensive parts of house building right now and we do not want to spend that much extra.

Other wise we can still tile bathrooms while we wait for a decision.

Sorry we were away for a while or I was anyway but we are back at it.

The good news is that the town has decided to fix our street this year.  We were quite surprised at this because we were going to ask the town when it would be done.  The street was in such terrible shape but with the sidewalks in it looks better already.  They will pave it early next month so it will justify the raise in our property taxes.

We are working at drywalling the main level but had to put it on hold because we need the venting inspected before we can close it in.  Lisa will do that tomorrow and then we can move on.

In the interim we are laying tiles in the two bathrooms upstairs.  It has not been going well since the floors are not completely level and it is taking hours to get one done.  I have been doing the grouting afterwards and that allows Brian to go off and do something else.  The walls in both bathrooms will not be easy and will have to wait until the drywall is done.

We did find the rest of Brian's Ikea shelving so we don't have to panic about getting units that look the same.  What a relief since the thought of looking for what we needed was not making either one of us happy.

I still hope to have a kitchen before winter hits again.  Although we still do not have the parging for the outside so we can put siding up, and no one to put siding up either.  Brian still thinks he and I can do it but I am not happy about working on ladders.  I don't like heights.

We are moving forward but slowly.

Really don't like working with this stuff.

Brian removed this pipe from the old dining room so more repairs to be done.
